Biography: Giuseppe Amisani

Born in Pavia, he was also active in London. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.

In 1908, having won the Mylius-Bernocchi Prize with the painting Hero, he entered the artistic life of Milan, sharing with Antonio Ambrogio Alciati the fame of the time during the Belle époque, in particular as an elegant and freshly colored portraitist. He devoted himself increasingly to female portraits, but also created landscapes, particularly English and African ones. Amisani also participated in the Venice Biennale of 1920. For his works, he was twice in America, in Egypt, in Rhodes, in Algeria, in England and in France.
