Large oil painting on canvas by the French artist Hélène Luminais (1841–1911), signed and dated 1881.

The painting depicts a classically inspired allegory; the female figure holds a lyre, a traditional attribute of Poetry and Music. Beside her appears a winged putto (Cupid/Eros) holding a lit torch, a symbol of love and inspiration.
