Omar Galliani was born in 1954 in Montecchio Emilia. He is a leading exponent of the Anachronists group, supported by Maurizio Calvesi - who refer to a typically Italian humanistic culture, reformulate and contaminate iconographies and classical subjects and cloak themselves in ancient myths typical of the contemporary - and of the primary Magical movement of the critic Flavio Caroli. From the 1980s onwards, Galliani was invited to various editions of the Venice Biennale, the São Paulo Biennale in Brazil, the Beijing Biennale, in which he won the first prize in 2003. Following numerous national and then international exhibitions. the recognition arrives in the contemporary art museums of Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Kyoto, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Miami and Los Angeles. The Chinese tour in 2006 of the exhibition “Omar Galliani. Italian design ”seals his worldwide fame and ends with the exhibition“ Tra Oriente e Occidente ”at the Querini Stampalia Foundation at the Venice Biennale. The final milestone is the acquisition of the “Notturno” triptych and two drawings by the Uffizi Department of Prints and Drawings.
